Our office was originally owned by Dr. Mark Bramlett at 2532 Oak Street, where he practiced for many years. His daughter Betsy worked alongside him as a dental hygienist for 20 of those years. In May of 1991, Dr. Linda A Trotter bought Dr. Bramlett’s office and started practicing in that building. Eventually, she decided to buy the office down the road at 2522 Oak Street, where she currently treats her patients.
Dr. Trotter is a very active member of her local and dental community, acting both locally and nationally. She was the president of the Jacksonville Dental Society in 1996 and the president of the Northeast District Dental Association in 2013, as well as a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. She was also a volunteer coordinator for the Florida Mission of Mercy in 2016, an event where 2,930 patients were able to undergo many necessary dental procedures, they previously lacked access to.
Dr. Trotter and Dr. Burton met at a continuing education course for laser dentistry in February of 2022. Dr. Burton started working at Dr. Trotter’s office shortly after, and then became the owner in October 2022. Barbara has also worked at the office for over the past 31 years alongside each doctor and staying with us after we became Southern Smiles by Bethany Burton DMD.
